PARP

The Residency Program

The AFM-PARP is conceived as a structured visit to France by a Filipino visual artist for a minimum of two (2) months and a maximum of three (3) months.  The residency will be hosted by a bona fide non-profit cultural organization, e.g., an art school, museum, or an artist-run initiative. It is conceived as a professional opportunity rather than a project-based grant.

One residency will be offered annually.  The program is open to visual artists including painters, sculptors, installation and multimedia artists, and photographers. It aims to broaden professional networks between contemporary art communities in the Philippines and France.  The residency also aims to enrich the experience of local artists within the contemporary art scene in France.  It is an opportunity for the grantee to develop professional opportunities and foster bilateral relationships.

The AFM-PARP will provide Filipino artists with a financial grant to cover costs for travel and living expenses.  These resources are expected to afford recipients the opportunity for stimulating cultural exchanges and collaboration with other artists, and uninterrupted creative time.

During the residency period, the grantee is encouraged to give talks and workshops to the public, depending on the needs of the host, and to participate in publicity generated by the host or the Alliance Française Foundation in Paris, as well as to participate in lectures/seminars related to their area of expertise.

The residency will take place between the months of April to June or September to November.
