The Philippine Association of Printmakers closes the year with its 7th group exhibition for 2007 at the Alliance Française de Manille Total Gallery on December 6. “The Medium is the Message”, showcases selected works from the PAP collection together with new works by its members.  Featured are original prints done in a wide range of techniques by various artists including National Artists Arturo Luz, Jerry Elizalde Navarro and Bencab; Pandy Aviado, Fil Delacruz, Raul Isidro, Mario Parial, Romulo Olazo, Juvenal Sanso, Benjamin Torrado Cabrera, Ambie Abaño, Jess Flores, Rhoda Recto, Benard Temporosa, Chris Bayani, Janos Delacruz, Mimsy Sermonia, Camille dela Rosa, Florence Cinco, Lenore RS Lim, Nöell EL Farol, Roger San Miguel, Al Perez, Evelyn Collantes, Amy Soini, Carolyn Fitzpatrick among others.

 

PAP’s partnership with Alliance Française de Manille goes a long way back to the 90’s when AFM was still in Keystone building on Buendia.  The AFM has hosted a number of exhibitions by PAP members and has supported PAP projects.  When AFM moved to its new home in Bel-Air II, this cordial relationship continues as the PAP extends its reach to both locals and the foreign community.

 

The PAP in its four decades of existence continues to bring art to the people with its multi-original prints, exhibiting and holding workshops to promote the artform and subsequently to democratize art.

 

Artists’ reception shall be at Alliance Française de Manille’s Total Gallery on Thursday, December 6, 2007. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 pm.  Exhibit ends on January 11, 2008. As a collateral activity the AFM will host a PAP lecture-demonstration on printmaking on January 10, 2007, Thursday from 9:00-12:00 at the La Farge room, 2nd floor, Alliance Française de Manille, 209 Nicanor Garcia Street (formerly Reposo) Bel-Air II, Makati City.
