Highly-acclaimed saxophonist Géraldine Laurent forms the Time Out Trio together with bass player Yoni Zelnik and drummer Laurent Bataille. They will perform onstage at the Philam Life Theater this coming October 10 at 8PM. The concert will be open to the public and will be free of admission on a first-come first-served basis.

Having won 1st price (instrumental category) Juan-les-Pins Jazz festival and as well as the prestigious « Django d’Or » contest in the category “new talent”, the Time Out Trio has since performed on stages around the world.

Born in 1975, Géraldine LAURENT starts her musical training with classical piano and takes the saxophone at age 13, following the classes of the jazz départment of the Niort National Music School.

She attends many masterclasses and training courses (with such players as J.M. Padovani and J.L. Chautemps) and plays in various ensembles. She also studies with Deutsch Jazz pianist Floris Nico Bunik and obtains the Jazz DEM diploma as well as a master in musicology.

From 1999, Geraldine starts leading her own quartet (with Yoni Zelnik (b), David Georgelet (dr) and pianist Marc Leseyeux). She’s also plays in many groups such as famous drummer Charles Bellonzi’s quintet, and is invited by singer Romeyn Adams Nesbitt’s group to perform at a concert at the Olympia. Since 2005, Géraldine plays with the Time Out Trio. She still participates in Charles Belonzi projects, plays with pianist Antoine Herviers and also with the Spoun Ensemble (directed by François Jeanneau). She was recently invited on stage with Patrice Caratini’s ensemble, and by leaders as famous as Ricardo Del Fra, Aldo Romano, Christian Escoudé, Philippe Catherine...
