It all started in 1996-1997, when the dancers used to train in the street and under the arch of the Lyon Opera. After a few encounters, exchanges and thorough thoughts, the group of “breakers” created the Pockemon Crew in 1999. That year, they took part in their first battle in Grenoble. The company today gathers about 20 dancers. The creation as well as the transmission are the founding aspects of the company, which well intends to go beyond the fashions. Pockemon Crew is more about a collective of artists. Unity is above singularity or career opportunities. Also, smaller groups were built, such as the Smockemon (new generation of breakers), the Pockepop (standing dancers specialized in popping and smurf). Through their artwork and the force of a few dancers, they even created new tendencies. Dancers such as Lilou, Brahim or Rodolphe have invented new figures that are now referential on the North American hip hop scene.
